COLUMBUS, Ohio — 10TV teamed up with the Columbus Dispatch and asked central Ohio doctors who they would see if they needed medical help.
We received back 221 responses from licensed physicians in our seven-county metro area. Of the doctors who responded, their top choice for Obstetrician-Gynecologist was Dr. Carl Krantz, 10TV's Andrea Cambern reported on Friday.
Krantz often has busy days, between performing surgery, seeing pregnant patients and delivering babies.
It has been 30 years since he chose to specialize in obstetrics and gynecology and said the variety of the work is what intrigues him.
"I can do kind of as much medicine as I want and I can also do surgery," Krantz said. "And you get to see people from very young to very old."
Krantz said it is privilege to be allowed to share special moments in so many lives, as he delivers a second and sometimes a third generation of babies, Cambern reported.
He said it's not unusual for adults to approach him and tell him that he helped bring them into the world.
"I actually was doing surgery this morning and one of the anesthesiologists asked if I knew that I had delivered her husband," Krantz said. "Probably over 9,000 babies and it's still as much fun as the day I started doing it."\
10TV News does not endorse any of the doctors in our unscientific survey, however we do congratulate them.
The recommendations of the doctors who participated in Docs Rate Docs should not be considered a definitive ranking of central Ohio's best physicians and should not be viewed as a substitute for traditional physician referrals.
